Love and compassion are necessities, not luxuries. Without them, humanity cannot survive.Buddha.
An old monk once told me." Don't give poor people your pity for they have no need with your sympathy. What the poor people actually need is food in their stomach, clothing, shoes, and a comfortable place to rest their heads. Do teach the poor how to get out poverty and help them climb the ladder of success."
My grandfather once said, "if you can, give to the poor people what they need or do what you can to make a difference."
Unfortunately, there are too many poor, sick people in this world and I can't possibly reach out to all of them on my own.
But I have a dream and these are my goals:
-Promote education and help poor children stay in school.
-Help feed the hungry.
-Promote Aids awareness to the poor and help find cure for the sick.
-Help preserve and promote my Khmer Krom heritage.
Last summer, August 2002, the Charity Khmer Recipes books were put together with the help of kind-hearted friends from England. The Khmer Recipes has some of my recipes that I've donated, I was told that all the proceeds from the sale will go to the landmine victims in Cambodia.
A special thanks to Dr.Caroline Nixon for sending me the copy of the Khmer Recipes book. Thank you for allowing me to be part of your great charity work.
