A high-ranking senate official said on Sunday that Chea Xim, the president of the Senate and president of the CPP, will celebrate his 79th birthday this Monday, following his medical visit to Singapore. Um Sarith, the Senate secretary, told The Cambodia Daily yesterday that Chea Xim returned to Cambodia last Friday following his medical care [in Singapore]. Um Sarith said that at 6PM, Chea Xim will celebrate his 79th birthday at his mansion as his health is getting better. Chea Xim did not attend the Cambodian Independence Day celebration on 09 November because he had to travel to Singapore for medical care.
