[Yuon] Businesses need to expand investment in Cambodia: [Yuon] PM

Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung met with the Vietnamese Business Association (VBA) in Cambodia during his visit to the country on November 16.

The PM praised the VBA’s contribution to promoting friendship and economic, commercial and investment cooperation between the two countries.

The VBA now has 60 banking, finance, airline, agricultural, energy and mineral exploration invested projects in Cambodia with a total registered capital of more than US$900 million.

Mr Dung said that the Government encourages Vietnamese businesses to expand and boost investment in areas with potential in both countries for mutual benefits.

The PM also attended the signing of many important contracts between the Banks for Investment and Development of Vietnam and Cambodia and the Vietnamese businesses providing US$100 million for building factories to produce fertilizer, sugar, alcohol and rice and electric power plants.

The same day, Mr Dung and his Cambodian and Lao counterparts participated the 6th Cambodia-Laos-Vietnam Summit to discuss the plan for a Development Triangle in the 2010-2020 period.
